Making the chain
It seams that when I run into trouble shooting problems, it near impossible to find in a book.
After threading the serger, my left needle thread was not forming in the chain. This problem occurs often. I replaced both needles this time.
Previously the left needle broke, so I did three thread serging. After replacing the left needle, the thread would not form in the chain. Perhaps they were not the same size or seated correctly. I could see that the looper thread wasn't reaching far enough over to capture the left needle thread.
The left needle now seems shorter than the right which is the way it is supposed to be. At least now they are the same size--both 80s. Now the chain is perfect.
