Its's a Miracle!!
I rethreaded my serger using a technique I learned in class. By golly--it worked!
I knotted the new thread to the old thread. Then, I loosened the tension to zero. I ran the thread through until the new thread was close to the eye of the needle. Then pulled the needle thread through and rethreaded the needles. I put the tension back to 4 on all the dials.
I checked the tension on stitch width of 3 and who would have believed how nice the stitches looked.
