New Look 6216

After sizing down to a size 10, the completed garment seemed a little big still. Another review of finished garment measurements prompted me to try sizing down to an 8 but grading to a 10 at the waistline to the hem. I changed the seam allowance to 3/8 inch. The armscye and neckline was very much improved. The overall fit was nice with the right amount of ease. The only problem was the the side seam was not perpendicular to the floor. I redrew the pattern from a point under the arm and 6 inches above the waist and used that as the pivot point to plum the side seam. I chose not to pivot at the center back and front because there did not seem to be a need for correction in those areas. The size 8 is totally wearable but I am hoping to make the pattern part of a wardrobe staple.
